Reads and interprets assembly drawings, parts lists, operation sheets, manufacturing procedures and visual aids. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality. Displays the ability to use hand tools; such as screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, nut-drivers, power drivers, etc. Performs visual and dimensional inspections for in-process assemblies and finished products. Routes, wires, and assembles electronic components using wire layout boards.

This position is responsible for applying protective coatings and encapsulants to electronic components and assemblies to ensure their durability and reliability. Utilizing specialized equipment and materials to pot and encapsulate components, assemblies and ensures that they meet quality and safety standards. Monitors and controls the curing process to ensure proper adhesion and quality. Conducts checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specs and standards. Updates and maintains cure process documentation records. One to two years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Preferably in electronics or aerospace. Understanding of potting and encapsulation techniques and materials.

Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and wiring on assembly units.

Responsible for the set up and operation of tools that remove burrs and excess material from machined parts. Inspects finished parts for imperfections. Reports to the Machine Shop Supervisor. Sets up and operates machinery that grinds, smooths and buffs machined parts. Removes excess material (burrs) from surfaces during the post-production process. Visually inspects finished parts for flaws and defects and ensure they meet specifications. Operates power tools such as grinders and sanders to remove burrs on parts. Must have good hand-eye coordination as well as good manual dexterity in both hands. Ability to function under minimal supervision. Demonstrate motivation and accountability to achieve individual and department goals. This position requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time. Minimum 3 years of Machine Shop experience. Experienced with use of tools- grinders, sanders, etc. Experience in the Aerospace industry a plus.
